About Katiki Waterfalls Visakhapatnam (Vizag)

Katiki Waterfalls Visakhapatnam (Vizag) at a distance of 7 km from Borra Caves, 39 km from Araku, 90 km from Visakhapatnam, 665 km from Hyderabad. Katika Waterfalls is splendid water situated near Borra Caves in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) District of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the best waterfalls in Araku and also among the highest places to visit in Araku.

The name of the falls comes from the name of the village nearby. Katiki waterfall is formed by the Gosthani River and it cascades down from a height of 100+ feet. The lake at all time low of the waterfall is an excellent place for taking a bath once a tricky trek to the place. It’s to be reached by a 20-30 minutes trek (one way) through lush forest and upwards to mountain prime from the nearest motorable road. Cooking and inhibition also are permitted at this place. How to Reach Katiki Waterfalls Visakhapatnam

To reach Katiki falls from Araku, you have to require Borra Caves road at Mulyaguda junction between Araku and Visakhapatnam (around 30 km from Araku, once Ananthagiri). Cross the Borra Caves railway crossing on a similar road. Nearly 2 kilometre from the railway crossing, you have to take a left turn wherever the straight road takes to Borra Caves, 2 km from caves here.

There is no public transportation available for this place. Visitors are advised not to venture to the waterfall in their own automotive because the road is jarring and not suitable for regular cars aside from jeeps. There are not any lodgings near the waterfall but there are small huts that sell marinated chicken in bamboo trunks.

The road ends at the railway track close to Tunnel 44. From here, you have got to cross the railway track and go straight trekking the mountain. There are no accommodations near the waterfall, but there are small cabins selling chicken marinated in bamboo trunks. Jungle honey is also available near the waterfall. The best time for this fall is from August to December and it will be dry during the summer season.

Entry fee and Timings of Katiki Waterfalls Visakhapatnam

There is no entrance fee to visit Katiki Falls. However, jeeps are available to visitors as an alternative to trekking to the falls. About 10 people are needed per trip at a cost of Rs. 250 to Rs. 300 per person. Katiki Waterfalls can be visited from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day of the week.
