Duduma Waterfall Koraput (Odisha)
Duduma Waterfalls is situated in the border of Koraput (Odisha) near to Munchingiputtu village of Visakhapatnam (Vizag) district, Andhra Pradesh in India. The waterfall is formed by the Machkund river. This is a horsetail type of water which falls from a height of 175 meters (574 ft). Duduma Waterfalls has two waterfalls, one of the Odisha side and other on the side of Andhra Pradesh. The Waterfalls is about 92 km. from Koraput and about 177 km. from Visakhapatnam.
Machkund (Duduma) Hydroelectric Project is located near Duduma Waterfalls this is a collaborative project between The Government of Odisha. The Project consists of 6 units and has an installed capacity of 120 MW. Machkund is a Pilgrimage destination as well as a tourist destination. The Tribes line near Duduma Waterfalls are Bonda, Gadaba and Parajas.

Duduma Waterfall is one of the latest types of waterfalls which ranks third in terms of height of the waterfalls. Its Vigour and Glory makes it unique in nature and more over the Lush Green Hills and Valleys makes it a heavenly place to visit. It is a delight for Photographers who want to capture the Picturesque views in their cameras. There are Odd 800 steps to climb the hill point to watch the view of the waterfalls. It is made by the Machkund River (Originally ‘Matsya-Kund’) which also caters the famous Machkund Hydroelectricity Project.
Duduma waterfall is located at a distance of 88 kms. From Koraput, the majestic waterfall is also known as ‘Matsya Tirtha’ falls. Three Kilometers away from Duduma Waterfalls, there is a small village Onkadelli, which draws the Bonda, and visits the remote dense forest. A New Dam Reservoir is being constructed at Jolaput. The best time to visit the waterfall is after the monsoon from September to November, as we can see them in bloom.
How to Reach
Duduma waterfalls can be reached in two ways. One is from Jeypore, and the other is from Semiliguda through Nandpur to Lamptaput, where the roads are located. Machkund is about 21 km from here. However, the Jeypore is better for the trip. The nearest big city and airport is Visakhapatnam.
