Visakhapatnam is framed by a line of three hills, each with a shrine sacred to a different religion. Venkateswara temple on the south hill referred to as Sri Venkateswara Konda could be a Hindu shrine. The north hill Darga Konda homes a Muslim shrine, cake Ishaq Madina Dargah and thus the Christian shrine, Mary is on the central and therefore the highest Ross Hill.

SRI VENKATESWARA SWAMY KONDA

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Konda Temple is located on Sri Venkateswara Swamy Konda Hill at a distance of 5 kms from Visakhapatnam (Vizag) Railway Station. The Temple is Dedicated to God Lord Venkateswara, Sri Venkateswara Temple is Situated in the South, among the slops of three hills which has a lush green sanctuary devoted to the God Lord Venkateswara. It is said to have been built by a European captain Blackmoor in 1866, according to the Telugu inscriptions. A remarkable feature of the temple is its small and temple steep entrance which resembles a pyramid shape, the passage is known as Gopura. By standing on the hill top elevated place you can have a view of the post channel, which is the entrance of the inner Harbour for ship and liners. Darga Konda

Darga Konda is located in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) at a distance of 5kms from the railway station. Darga Konda is located on the northern side of the harbor and on the way to the harbor. It is a mosque and the holy shrine of a Muslims saint, Sayed Ali Medina Alias Ishaque Madina, in the saint was believed to have miraculous powers. It is a very famous holy place which is visited by the people of all the religion and faith. It was built by a Mughal King Aurangzeb after his visit to Visakhapatnam about 700 yrs. ago. Darga Konda constitutes to the line of Three hills, the other is Sri Venkateswara Konda Temple and the Rose Hill.
