Gangavaram Beach Visakhapatnam
Gangavaram Beach is located in the village of Gangavaram. This village comes under the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) in Andhra Pradesh. The Beach is 25 kms from Visakhapatnam (Vizag) Railway Station. The Gangavaram Beach was named after the town which existed before the Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) was constructed. The Beach is widely known for its scenic beauty and village like culture.
Gangavaram Beach is one of the unexplored beaches of the city, as it is located in the suburban area of the city of Visakhapatnam (Vizag). It is surrounded by the Palm trees beach makes it unique in beauty, with a picturesque view. It is not a crowded beach, the ambiance of the beach makes one relax and rejuvenate, unlike other beaches it has a very magnificent coastline which attracts the filmmakers to shoot their film. This beach is a delight for photographers as many of them visit this beach to capture beautiful views in their cameras. There are two prominent festivals celebrated in the village of Gangavaram apart from other festivals.
Best Time to Visit Gangavaram Beach, Visakhapatnam (Vizag)
The Magha Pournami is celebrated in February through march, the people surrounding village come to bath in the sea. There is even a small fair on this day which is an attraction for the locals. The Paidithalamma Ammavari Panduga festival is celebrated in mid-June. The whole village of Gangavaram was vacated and construction of the port began in December 2005, and commercial operations commenced in August 2008.
The Port was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. The Port is called Gangavaram Port after the name of the beach. This is the deepest port in India.
There was an incredible looking Pitta Konda in between the sea, and the Krishna temple on the opposite side of the hill. Gangavaram Beach is quite remote and peaceful however, swimming is strictly prohibited here.

How to Reach Gangavaram Beach, Visakhapatnam?
Visakhapatnam Railway Station, which is 26 km from the beach, takes 1 hour to cover the distance, while the Visakhapatnam bus stop is 28 km by car and takes 1.5 hours if follow the route of AH45. Tourists of all ages can access Gangavaram Beach by road, whether they come directly from the airport, railway station or bus.
